Living
with Jim and Gayle
October, 2025
Once we got past the first two weeks of
fishing, we had an enjoyable season. The river continued to be
warm so there weren't as many salmon in the Hanford Reach as
predicted. However, in 10 trips, we caught 9 fish so we were
happy.
One day as we were launching the boat, the motor tilt failed. The
little check valve fell out. We picked up the part and returned
home so that Jim could try to fix it. He found that a very small
piece was missing. Not feeling very hopeful about finding it on
the rocky shoreline where we launched, we went back to try. While
looking for it, a guide who was waiting in the launch picked something
up and asked"is this it?". YES, it was.

Bo couldn't quite figure out where he wanted to be when we were in the
trailer.

I bought Bo 2 "enrichment" toys. So far, he is simply using brute
force and luck to find the treats. He'll have to wait until
spring now to learn how they work because they were too big to pack.

I am still not feeling well. The
echocardiogram really didn't show much. I have mild to moderate
leakage of the mitral valve. Could this be enough to cause my
issues? I couldn't get an appointment to see a cardiologist in
Richland until at least March. I could get in to see a
cardiologist in the Palm Springs area in late January. We decided
to
head south.
We arrived in La Quinta, CA on 10/23. The house and yard were in
very good condition. We have an excellent gardener who takes care
of the yard. We were happy to see that our new ocotillo survived
and is in leaf.
