Living
with Jim and Gayle
May, 2025
We attended a "Day of Mobilization"
rally. The orange monster and his handlers and the complicit
Congress continue to destroy America. Attending rallies and
calling Congressmen are about the only things I know to do to lend my
support to American democracy.

Last year when we were staying in the trailer, the air conditioner had
a hard time starting. Jim installed a "hard start" kit.
Hopefully that will resolve the problem.

Last year, the big motor on the boat overheated a couple of
times. Jim replaced the water pump.

We got two small loads of compost for my garden.

My garden is planted. It is struggling. Some of the
seedlings I bought were too leggy. Between that and damage from
the wind, I have had to replace several of them. Some plants are
still struggling, but I have my fingers crossed. I've planted
carrots, radishes, and green beans from seeds. They are all
sprouting. I planted three types of cherry tomatoes (one type is
struggling), bell peppers (struggling), jalapeno peppers (struggling),
cucumbers (doing well), yellow summer squash that I started from seed
(doing well), cantaloupe (replaced), and basil (doing well). The
cilantro has not sprouted.

In my effort to reduce microplastics, I replaced all of my plastic
spice bottles with glass ones. The shaker part is still plastic.

This fall I want to try canning some of the jalapenos (assuming they
produce). I found a water bath canner and jars for sale at a good
price.

I asked ChatGPT to make Bo into a Super Hero. Makes me smile!
