Living
with Jim and Gayle
July, 2024
The yellow day lilies put on a spectacular
show in July.
Jim updated our entire home monitoring system.
I wanted our dishwasher filters cleaned. This is not a
straightforward task for our dishwasher. Jim undertook
disassembling the interior only to find that the filters were fine.
Stepping out of my comfort zone, I joined a group of pickleball ladies
for a pool party.
The Hanford museum, the Reach, had a free admission Tuesday.
The museum is really well done, showing the geology and history
of the area.
I'm having mixed success with my garden. I've picked only a
couple of cucumbers and a few cherry tomatoes, but a lot of basil and
yellow squash. There are lots of jalepeno peppers and carrots
growing. So far, there are only two butternut squash and no
honeynut squash. The green peppers are quite small as are the
full size tomatoes. I have six cantalope which is exciting.
I've never grown them so I hope they mature.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has blocked the
river access where we put the boat in the water to salmon fish.
The access they left open is one that we have tried in the past and
although, with great difficulty, we got the boat
into the water, we couldn't
get it out from that access point. Unless something changes
before the start of fishing mid-September, we will be unable to salmon
fish this fall.
Our solar panels ARE working on our California house. The power
company misread the meters. The bill has not been corrected
but solar is being generated.
Bo had a seizure this month.
