May, 2022
May was all about rehabilitating my right knee and, unfortunately,
coping with my back. I hurt my back when I first started doing PT
for my knee. It has not recovered. I have tried
acupuncture, two chiropractors, and PT explicitly for my back.
Nothing has helped. When I went to Renton for my 7 week post-op
knee checkup, I told them that my back was killing me. They took
x-rays of my back and have recommended that I get an MRI and see a back
specialist.
My right knee is doing well.
My back is a mess -- but it has been. I need to find out what
has changed.
I've converted my craft room into my exercise room. I do my PT
exercises (for both my knee and my back) 2-3 times a day.
When we went to Renton for my knee post-op, we went to the Van Gogh
Immersive
Experience. It was very disappointing. However, my college
roommate, Carol, and her husband, Duane, joined us. Although the
exhibit was a bust, we enjoyed getting together with Carol and Duane.
Jim has started a major project on the boat. Initially, it was
just replacing the seats which were worn out. When he took the
old seats out, he decided that the floor needed to be redone.
Then when he got the floor taken out, he decided the sides needed to be
redone. Then...
We had our front windows tinted. We enjoy sitting in the front
room watching people play tennis on the courts across the street from
us. We sort of felt like we were on display. Now
people can't see in.
The killdeer have abandoned their second nest. But this time
we know why. I looked out the window just in time to see a hawk
in full pursuit of one of the killdeer. Failing to catch it, the
hawk returned to the nest. I chased it away. However, it
was too late. The nest had been disturbed (two eggs were gone)
and the killdeer returned only briefly and then disappeared.
Bo is getting fluffy. He hates getting a bath but loves to run
around afterwards.
