Living on the Road

with Jim and Gayle

January, 2010

We celebrated New Year's Eve with our friends and neighbors.  Our neighbors, Ron and Mary Ellen hosted the neighborhood party on their lot this year.  It was one of the nicest parties I've been to in a long time.  Good food, good friends, good times.

Our resort has established an art gallery.  Jim showed three of his black and white photography pictures.

Our resort always has a "Welcome Back Fiesta" which is a great party with lots of Mexican food and drink.  Mary Ellen and I helped at the Margarita Bar.

There have been several earthquakes in the area so we went back to the Mud Volcanoes to see if they were any different.  They weren't quite as active as the last time we were there, but they were still fascinating.

It rained for almost a solid week.  We got more rain in that week than the desert normally gets in an entire year.  There was a lot of flooding and road closures.  The ponds in our resort, where runoff goes, overflowed their banks flooding the flower beds and even a couple of the pump houses.
