We
attended a Midsouth Foretravel Chapter rally in Vidalia, LA., just
across the Mississippi River from Natchez, Ms.
There
were 55 Foretravels at the rally. It was great to see old friends
and to meet new ones.
The
RV park was on the bank of the Mississippi River. The barge
traffic went on 24/7 and it was noisy!
From Vidalia, we went to Robertsdale, Alabama. We spent a week
simply "hanging out". We then went to Lafayette, LA. On our
way, we drove through the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We visited Pass
Christian, where we had visited friends in the past. Pictures
cannot begin to tell the story. It's GONE! We now better
understand why they moved away.
In Lafayette, we visited our wonderful friends, George and
Barbara. On our first night there, Barbara fixed a fried chicken
dinner for 19 of us (their family). Our last night there, she
made a fried shrimp dinner for 14 friends. What a great cook!
George and Barbara took us to a "Cruisin' Cajun" rally. The theme
for the rally was crawfish. One night, we ate crawfish Etouffee.
The next day, an outfit brought in 2300 pounds of live crawfish which
they cooked right there.
We feasted on them!
