Living

with Jim and Gayle

July, 2022

I got the results of the MRI of my lower back.  The two vertebrae, S1/L5 have autofused.  This has created stress above this fusion at L4/L5 causing the disc to bulge.  This is probably the cause of the numbness of my right leg.  In addition, there's bulging of the facet joint at L4/L5.  I am doing exercises to try to get the disc bulge to go away.

Jim finished his boat project.  The boat looks great!

The side yard project was also completed.  What a job!  We hired a crew to put dirt and rocks into the holes left when the bushes were removed.

We planted day lilies in the front but we're just leaving plain rock in the back.  Jim had to redo the sprinklers on the side.

We really like the openness and being able to see.

I'm having mixed results with my garden.  I don't have any butternut squash setting (Internet says I have too much nitrogen in the soil).  The zucchini is struggling because snails ate most of it.  The carrots seem to be doing well and one of the three pepper plants is doing well.  The tomato plant only has a couple of small cherry tomatoes on it.  The petty pan squash are doing well as are the cucumbers.

Bo enjoys watching out the front window.  However, this doesn't look that comfortable!
