Living

with Jim and Gayle

November, 2021

We're in Palm Springs for 3 months!  This is our home away from home.  It's a fifth wheel trailer on the golf course in a resort similar to the one we used to own in Indio.

A friend is allowing us to store our little travel trailer at her house.

The resort is not practicing any Covid safety precautions.  This is especially worrisome in the gym which is packed with people breathing heavily.  I need to keep my knees moving so I bought a small portable exercise bike.  Not a bad view for my morning "ride".

Every Monday, the resort has a musical group perform at one of the outside clubhouse areas.  We take our chairs so that we can sit away from everyone.
Entertainment

Cathedral City hosted its 7th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival.  One of the clubs at the resort sponsored a balloon to come to the resort.

The next evening, Jim and I went to a night glo of the balloons.  They had two separate balloon areas, one with 9 hot air balloons; one with 11.  It was a pretty site.

I had my permanent cosmetics redone.  I'm quite happy with the results.  I go back in 8 weeks for a final touch-up (picture was taken right after; the bruising has healed and the colors have muted).

Bo has had a tough start to our stay in Palm Springs.  He's been sick for the first three weeks.  We stressed him too much with the trip, followed by him getting too hot, followed by a haircut.  The result was stress induced diarhea.  We couldn't get it under control so we had to make an emergency trip to the vet.  It's taken about 3 weeks for him to be back to his normal spunky self.

We got him a new water fountain.  We wanted one that was smaller and quieter than the ones we had for him.  He quite likes this new one.

For as long as Jim and I can remember, we have celebrated Thanksgiving with friends or family.  This year, it was just the two of us.  The kitchen in the RV we have rented is not set up for much cooking...
