Living

with Jim and Gayle

June, 2021

The trailer has provided a month's "entertainment" for Jim.

The windows had curtains.  The plastic "hold-down" pieces were broken plus, Jim and I don't like curtains.  I took the curtains down and we liked how open it felt, but the side cords for the blinds were now exposed.  Jim made side valances using the curtain material.  However, we didn't really think this one through -- they are right where I lean back when sitting at the dinette (the only place to sit).  For now, we'll just see how it works...

Unlike the Foretravel which had electrical conduit cable runs, the trailer's wiring is just laid within the walls.  Somewhere in Jim's various remodeling, he apparently put a screw through a wire, shorting it out, cutting all power to the front of the trailer.  Since there isn't conduit, there's no way to pull another wire.  Jim had to run various cable paths to recover power to the places where it was shorted out.

We finally finished the gravel area for the trailer and the sideyard.  The neighbor is going to extend his block wall further forward so we left a space for the workers to pour footings.

The entry into the new parking area was over the sidewalk which was hard to get the boat, trailer,and/or truck over.  We hired a contractor to take out the sidewalk and curbing and put in a driveway entry.  So far, this is not going well -- the contractor doesn't have the tools that he needs to cut the curbing correctly...

Removing the grass and river rock from the sideyard left it feeling empty.  I moved a metal birdbath from the back and filled it with resin coated rocks. Metal birdbath

Also keeping Jim busy is constant work on the sprinkler system.

My garden survived the month!  Carrots and beets have sprouted; the squash, peppers, and cucumbers have blooms.

Bo has not felt well this month.  Bloodwork and an exam found nothing exceptional wrong (one liver enzyme is elevated).  Jim and I worried is was all the rich treats he was getting in his training so we withdrew him from his puppy class.  I am also making sure that he eats a good breakfast.  He seems to be feeling better but also seems to have down times.  Worrisome.
