Living

with Jim and Gayle

January, 2021

The most important news is that Jim and I got our first Covid-19 vaccine shot (Pfizer) on January 15.  If there is enough vaccine, we get our second shot on February 5.  My sister, brother-in-law, and mother in Denver have also gotten their first shot (Moderna).  Hopefully the vaccines live up to their promise.

In this world of coronavirus isolation, our world seems to revolve around a funny puppy named Bo.

I made him a knit toy, a Christmas stocking, and a snuggle blanket.

In hopes of taking him on the boat this summer, I bought him a life jacket.  He is so easy going that it didn't bother him at all.  I also bought him a seat belt extension to hook to his harness to keep him safer in the truck (he hates it).

Quite often, the TV catches his eye.  He watched the PBS wolf special with us.  He then used his ratter heritage to figure out that we had a mouse in the house (Jim didn't believe him but I did so I set a trap).

We had snow for Christmas and now again at the end of January.  Bo thinks it's great fun.

We bought a food puzzle for Bo.  He quickly figured out he could pop the ends off and run away with the plastic end.  When I glued them on, he no longer was interested in it.  The ball with treats wasn't worth the effort, I guess.  One of his favorite things to do is to put his purple ring over Jim's foot and play tug-of-war.

Bo's original family sent him cards and presents for Christmas.

Jim's been busy with various projects.
He vented the kitchen vent fan outside.  Previously, it just sucked air in and blew it back out into the kitchen which was pretty pointless.

He worked on the house plumbing.  He installed a hot water recirculating pump so that we would have hot water at all faucets immediately.  This revealed numerous plumbing issues.  The shower valves were worn and had to be replaced.  The master bathroom faucet insides also had to be replaced.  He's still chasing other gremlins but it is nice to have hot water without having to run it forever.

Jim built a riser platform for his chair and put a shelf into the TV cabinet.

He tried to save his good Pentax camera (the shutter isn't working; he failed).  He also set me up a new financial computer.  My old one just got too slow to use.
