Living on the Road

with Jim and Gayle

August, 2018

We spent the first part of August in Hayden, ID.  Having spent 6 weeks in Hayden last year (with the motorhome brake issue), this was a very comfortable stay.  We stayed at the Elks which is centrally located for our activities.

I played a lot of pickleball.  I have a friend from the desert who has a home in the area.  She and I got together several times to play.

One of the really nice things about the Hayden/Coeur d'Alene area is their free summer concert series.  We went to four of these.
Stagecoach West and the Kelly Hughes band -- both excellent.

The Hankers and Somebody's Hero -- also excellent.

We went to two concerts at the Coeur d'Alene Casino -- Stephanie Quayle and Lonestar.  Both of those, unfortunately, were horrible.  Sound blasting your ear drums with the bass over-driving the speakers and drowning out the vocals.

Like most of the west coast, northern Idaho was inundated by smoke from all of the forest fires burning.  This is a picture I took on the shore of Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Here's some of my newer rocks.  I'm having trouble with the clear coat sealant bubbling.  I've enlisted Jim to help me solve this problem.

We're now in the Tri-Cities, visiting our friends, Scott and Joan, before we start salmon fishing next month.
