Friends organized an "expedition" to Pappy and Harriet's Pioneer Town Palace (picture by Steve).  It's an oldtime cowboy restaurant about an hour away, in Yucca Valley.  The food and music was great.  The dancing was questionable!

The valley is in extreme need of blood.  The resort organized a blood drive -- 60 pints were donated.  This was my FIRST (I'm ashamed to say) time to give blood.  It wasn't as bad as I was afraid it would be and I will do it again (picture by Steve).

Larry Holmes (champion heavy weight boxer) appeared at the grand opening of Circuit City (picture by Linda).  Years ago, Jim flew across country with Muhammed Ali and was surprised how small he was.  The same is true of Larry Holmes -- he's bulkier than Jim but only an inch taller.  I was surprised that he wasn't more massive.
